THE BRITISH TECH PIONEER
A spark of an idea that first led Gary Turner to drop out from a computer science degree at the age of 19 to join a fledging technology start-up in Glasgow has since gone on to propel him through a career at the top of some of the world’s most renowned and admired technology businesses.
That same spark led him to walk away once more, this time from the mighty Microsoft in 2009 to form another technology startup, Xero, where under Gary’s leadership as co-founder and managing director of Xero’s UK arm, his business has grown from first year revenues of barely £50k to what will rocket past £25 million in 2017. The kind of growth and flair for innovation that’s earned Xero global recognition from Forbes Magazine who named it World’s Most Innovative Growth Company in both 2014 and 2015.
A wonderful storyteller with inspirational and often amusing tales from over twenty years inside global technology startups and behemoths alike.
